Bournemouth Tourism

Introduction to Bournemouth Tourism

Bournemouth is a cosmopolitan, world class destination located on Britain’s south coast in the county of Dorset. It was founded in 1810 by Lewis Tregonwell and shortly afterwards became a recognised health resort and spa town, attracting Victorian visitors for the medicinal benefits of its sea air and pine scented walkways.

At Bournemouth Tourism, we work with partners and businesses across the destination, led by Bournemouth & Poole Tourism Management Board, to create unforgettable memories for the holidaymakers and day trippers that visit the town. Together with Bournemouth Borough Council, the resort’s Town Centre and Coastal Business Improvement Districts and many other industry organisations and agencies, we are committed to campaigns and innovations that retain our position as a leading resort.
